Jack Riewoldt sells grand Brighton home for about $7.2m in quiet deal
Former Richmond star Jack Riewoldt has sold his Brighton home for a tidy gain in a quiet deal.
The four-bedroom house was marked as sold on online property portals late last month.
Riewoldt and his wife, Carly, bought the property for $3.81 million, settling in 2018, public records show.
Although the sale price is undisclosed, two sources with knowledge of the deal but not authorised to comment publicly put it in the vicinity of $7.2 million.
The house is set on about 800 square metres near the Royal Brighton Yacht Club and Middle Brighton Baths and has two bathrooms and parking for two cars.
When it was previously traded, it was advertised as an entertainer’s residence with a swimming pool, spa, Gaggenau kitchen, library and north-facing terrace, turret entry with domed ceiling, attic storage, oak floors, French doors and a generous garden.
It was not immediately clear whether the home has been renovated since its previous sale.
Marshall White Bayside selling agent Andy Nasr handled the most recent deal but declined to comment.
Riewoldt was Richmond’s vice captain and is a three-time premiership player and a 12-time leading goalkicker for the club.
He won the Coleman Medal for the most goals in a season three times. He retired last season and appears as a regular guest on the AFL 360 show on Fox Footy.
Brighton’s median house price is $2,875,000, 14.6 per cent higher than it was five years ago, according to Domain data.
