No try for Milne after double movement

The Rabbitohs put the effort in to get the next try, but the one-on-one from Trai Fuller is the difference.

Taane Milne’s ball-carrying arm hits the ground, and then he promotes the ball forward while Fuller still has his legs.

That’s a no no. Double movements not allowed.

How do the Bunnies stay in the game?

The Rabbitohs were right there with the Dolphins for the first 30 minutes or so of that half, but they started to fade as half-time neared.

Their end of set plays were particularly poor, with a couple of rushed decisions coming from the hands and boots of Cody Walker and Jack Wighton.

It’s up to Ben Hornby to settle his team in the sheds now, and get them back to completing their sets and getting their kicks right.

As for the Dolphins, they too could clean up their end of set execution. If they nail that, they’ll walk away with the win and potentially a spot in the top four.

The stats at half-time

Dolphins lead at half-time

That’s half-time at Kayo Stadium, with the Dolphins just head after that try for Herbie Farnworth.

It’s been gruelling out there, and the Dolphins really could have gone to the break with another try or two on the scoreboard. A few chances they let pass them by, but they’re still the dominant team at the break.

Arm wrestle to finish the half

The Dolphins are putting the foot down to close out this half, and the Rabbitohs look exhausted.

Both teams completing at a high rate, which means the ball is in play for long stints at a time.

The Dolphins are just beating South Sydney with kick-chases, which means they’re containing the Rabbitohs to inside their half, and putting the pressure on in defence - making them really work to get out of their own end.

Farnworth adds to Dolphins tally

Dolphins are in again.

After another short goal-line drop out, the Dolphins get the ball back, and a penalty on top of that.

The Dolphins attack is too much for South Sydney’s goal-line defence, and Herbie Farnworth powers through Damien Cook and Davvy Moale to score.

An error for an error

These teams are doing everything together.

This time, Jye Gray makes an error on the kick-off, putting his foot on the dead ball line after he catches the ball.

The short goal-line drop out is fed straight to the hands of Jack Bostock.

Michael Chee Kam strips the ball while Bostock is in the act of scoring, and then the Rabbitohs kick it dead.

That means, we get another goal line drop out.

Dolphins error invites Bunnies back in the game

After that try for Pangai Junior, Connelly Lemuelu drops the ball on the kick-off.

It invites the Rabbitohs right back into the game, and they take their chance. Cody Walker throws a Harbour Bridge pass to Jacob Gagai on the wing, and he scores.

Walker missis the conversion - Dolphins hold their narrow lead.

Pangai Junior scores

Tevita Pangai Junior has been a force tonight, and he’s rewarded with a try.

The first lot of hard work was from Jack Bostock, who got a line break down the left edge, and with the Dolphins right on the Rabbitohs line, Pangai Junior bursts over, brushing Jye Gray and Damien Cook aside as he does so.
